Data Sources
We source our data from established, reputable providers:

- Tiingo: Stock and ETF prices (adjusted for splits and dividends)
- Stooq: Historical commodity spot prices
- FRED: Federal Reserve Economic Data (Treasury rates, macro indicators)
All data sources are cited on our Methodology page. We update our price data daily via automated pipelines.
Calculations & Methodology
All metrics on Gale Finance are calculated using industry-standard formulas. Our methodology is fully documented and publicly available. We use:
- Daily closing prices for return calculations
- Adjusted close for equities (accounting for dividends and splits)
- Appropriate annualization factors (252 days for equities, 365 for crypto)
- 3-month Treasury rate as the risk-free rate for Sharpe/Sortino ratios

Editorial Independence
Our analysis is independent of any financial institution, exchange, or asset issuer. We do not accept payment to feature specific assets or produce favorable analysis.
